We Did It! Water Fitness Participants Lose 250 Pounds!

Janet Stumps and Sue White are pictured with many of the water fitness participants who joined the weight loss challenge. They watched the monkey climb the tree on the sign to reach the weight-loss goal of 250 pounds.

The water fitness classes participants met their challenge of losing 250 pounds by April 1. They combined healthy eating along with water exercise to reach their goal. The challenge started on Jan. 1 and went through March 31. Weight loss was recorded on an honorary system.

Instructors  Helen Limjoco, Janet Stumps, Isela Sanders, and Sue White encouraged their participants to join in the challenge. A sign was displayed at the beginning of the class (as shown in the picture), and the participants watched the monkey climb the tree to reach their goal.

Water fitness classes are held five days a week at 8 a.m. Janet teaches two classes on Tuesdays, at 8 and 9 a.m. and offers a variety of formats and equipment. Sue teaches at 8 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and offers a high intensity workout called Tabata. Helen teaches on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. and Fridays at 8 a.m. and offers Aqua Zumba. Isela teaches on Thursday at 8 a.m. and offers Aqua Zumba. All classes are held outdoors.

Come and beat the heat and enjoy any of the classes. The combination of the buoyancy and resistance of the water burns more fat calories than landbased classes.
