The Pebblecreek Quilters (PCQ) met Dec. 13 in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room for their December meeting and holiday luncheon. PCQ President Ronda Jones called the meeting to order and conducted a short meeting before drawing the winning ticket for the 2021 opportunity quilt. Jill Hilder was the winner of the 2021 masterpiece, Riverbed. An opportunity quilt is created each year to raise funds to support the club’s charitable efforts in support of local organizations and residents.
The highlight of the meeting was Jan Ochterbeck’s presentation and trunk show of her “cut and shuffle” and Block Mama quilt designs. Jan, a Pebblecreek resident and PCQ member, was formerly a textile and color product designer. She planned to conduct a “cut and shuffle” class in January to teach her quilt design.
New PCQ board members were inducted to office. The members who will serve as officers and chairpersons for the 2022 calendar year are Karen Bogadi, president; Debbie Arsenault, vice president; Carol Moonan, secretary; Darlene Hecker, treasurer; Julie Baird, education; Mary Hill, community service; Jonnie Chandler, publicity; and Linda Publicover, long arm.
The luncheon meeting ended with a show and share session. PCQ members shared their quilt creations and a short story of their inspiration or purpose for their quilts. Many of the quilts were given to the PCQ’s community service chair, who will distribute the quilts to the New Life Center, Ryan’s House, Austin Center, or other local agencies offering support and shelter to those seeking assistance.
