The PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association 2014-2015 season came to a successful conclusion in April. The team sponsored by Spooner Physical Therapy had won the first season half by a comfortable margin at 16 wins – 4 losses but was challenged in the second half by teams of Arizona Orthopedic, Osborne Jewelers and American Solar. Victory came on the last game of the season giving Spooner the overall championship with a second half record of 15 to 5 over Arizona Ortho at 14 to 5 and one tie game.
Spooner team manager Gary “The Boss” Jensen and the team sponsor represented by Kenny Sargeant (Spooner Regional Director) were honored during the PCSSA Annual Banquet held at Tuscany on April 10. Players for the Spooner 2014-2015 team were Jay Aybar, Don Belonax, Bob Czajkowski, Rich Elliott, Dan Greenwood, Leo Grish, Chuck Johnson, Joshua Rabinowitz, Steve Rushman, Jack Tanner, Lawrence Tanner and Bill Wise.
Also at the banquet, a 20 year pin was presented to Bobby Quarantino and special 15th anniversary jackets were given to Lee Ayers, Barry Soloman and Jack Tanner for their active play in the PCSSA League. Additional recognitions were presented to all 12 of the team sponsors.
A year end, single elimination tournament provided additional excitement and a chance for other teams to come out on top. The finale was played by the sixth and ninth ranked teams between the Dunton Team vs. Team PebbleCreekSteve. The tournament win going to Dunton.
Other events held or participated in by the PCSSA included a golf tournament, an opening day picnic, Vision Walk and end of season picnic for the many friends and family of PCSSA.
The spring 2015 season is in full swing until June 9. We play on Tuesday and Saturday mornings starting at 8:00 a.m. and running until 11:30 a.m. Come by the Field of Dreams and cheer on your neighbors!
