Education and Training

The purpose of the PebbleCreek Gun Club is to promote the participation of PebbleCreek residents in the enjoyment of all forms of recreational shooting.

The activities of the PebbleCreek Gun Club include: Rifle and Pistol shooting; Shotgunning (trap, skeet, sporting clays); Hunting; Self Defense; Education and Training.

Education and Training support the other four activities of the PebbleCreek Gun Club. We have had classes and seminars on firearms safety, disassembly and cleaning of firearms, reloading handgun, rifle and shotgun ammo, various shooting classes from basic handgun to AR 15 rifle, defensive shooting classes and classes for acquiring Arizona Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permits.

The safety and wellbeing of our club members is our club’s highest priority.

Consequently, several club members have acquired National Rifle Association (NRA) certifications as Pistol Instructors and as Range Safety Officers (RSO) and with CPR/AED certifications. The PebbleCreek Gun Club has purchased two Philips Heart Start AEDs that will be brought to the various shooting activities – just in case it is needed.

Several club members are also taking Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) training on May 11, 2015, so they can respond immediately to any life threatening injuries from firearms mishaps or serious injuries from automobile accidents.

Topics and activities of this class include:

* Phases of TECC

* Triage techniques

* Rapid patient assessment

* Body substance isolation equipment

* Use of tourniquets

* Use of hemostatic agents (clotting agents)

* Use of compression bandages

* Use of occlusive dressings

* Scenario training

The PebbleCreek Gun Club has assembled emergency trauma kits that will be present at all club shooting events. The emergency response items and training will hopefully stabilize the injured while awaiting the arrival of medical professionals or evacuation to nearest medical facility.
