The West Valley Women’s Tennis League (WVWTL) ended the 4.0 season on March 1 with nine teams from the West Valley. PebbleCreek’s Alley Girls, playing in their third season since 2021, placed fourth out of eight teams.
The 4.0 caliber from the WVWTL play most Fridays at 11 a.m. at the Tuscany Falls tennis courts, from mid-October until the first Friday in March. Tennis is at their finest when viewing the three doubles teams in action, challenging their opponents ranging from many skills, while covering the court. Besides the Friday matches, you could find the team on Wednesdays, practicing with their coaches, Rod Wallace, Dave Kersey, and Peter Estelle. These fine men contributed to the team’s success, as they concentrated on skills and strategy.
Team Captain was Brenda Cook with Co-Captain Sheri Wallace. Their experience in tennis and leadership also fueled the team’s placement within the division.
Team members were: Annie Bessette, Joan Patchin, Lorinne Banister, Ann Lehman, Lee Ann Thompson, Vikki Constable, Leslie Estelle, Kelly Wood, and Katherine Tato.
The Alley Girls will take a much needed break from the West Valley League competition, and enjoy tennis at PebbleCreek and other locations during the summer. Look for the team to take to the courts again when the new season begins in October.
