Combine 115 dynamic PebbleCreek women with a number of important causes in the community and you get The Women’s Giving Circle (TWGC)! As we wrap up our fifth year as a PebbleCreek club, the organization is having a significant impact in Goodyear and surrounding areas. Our signature fundraiser, Date with a Plate, raised over $37,000, and all proceeds benefitted the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank. In addition, members volunteer at St. Mary’s Food Bank with coordinated shifts twice a month. In total, we have about 150 volunteer hours in the past year. The club also sponsors the Go With The Flow program, collecting feminine hygiene products, making buttoned bags, filling the bags at ‘packing parties’ and donating the bags to schools and homeless shelters. Nearly 2,000 bags were donated this past year. Volunteers also work together to make plarn mats made out of store plastic bags that the homeless can sleep on.
We are already planning for next year starting with forming the PebbleCreek team for the American Heart Association West Valley Heart Walk, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026. Please join us for a one or three mile walk right here in Goodyear and support this worthy cause. To participate in the Heart Walk or make a donation to our team, contact our Team Captain, Jill Burnham, at jjteach2@bellsouth.net.
The Women’s Giving Circle was founded in 2021 by PebbleCreek residents Grace Cooper, Willa Kravitz, Maureen McCann, Ruth Shaffer, and Mary Wiese. We invite all PebbleCreek women to join. You can help make a difference for these important causes as you develop special friendships that are formed as we work together. The organization also welcomes donations year-round. In addition to collecting plastic grocery bags, we collect empty prescription bottles that are filled with shampoo and conditioner for hygiene kits and feminine hygiene products. To join TWGC or make a donation, please contact us at thewomensgivingcircleofpc@gmail.com.
