Ten people from the PebbleCreek Singles Club volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank. Their task was to sort foodstuffs by category, such as non-food items, bulk, food, beverages, snacks, etc. They also checked the expiration dates on those items to ensure they were still good. The club members volunteer at St. Mary’s Food Bank about once a month. It’s hard manual work, but St. Mary’s is so organized that their time was well spent. St. Mary’s Food Bank was the first one ever started in the United States. With rising grocery prices, the need for the food bank has increased.
When club members finished working, they enjoyed getting to know each other better over lunch. This time they went to Rancho Mirage in Surprise.
