On a recent Friday evening, the Indianola Avenue cul-de-sac neighbors and friends held a Blast the Block party at this Eagle’s Nest location. The party theme was Red, White and Blue in celebration of September’s 200th anniversary of the National Anthem. The majority of the 100 plus attendees were attired in party colors. The party began with the National Anthem and ended with a conga line to the tumultuous YMCA song. Entertainment was provided by the PebbleRocks Band which is surely becoming a local favorite. The band members consisted of the following PCers: Ted Moran, Robert Hover, Steve Jensen, Gene Fioretti and Howard Brodbeck. The band arrived escorted by their wives.

These Eagle’s Nest neighbors have been having a second Friday of the month party every month for over ten years. These parties begin at 5:00 p.m. and end promptly at 7:00 p.m. and this block party was no exception to the time guidelines. Leading the planning for the party were Jim and Cindy Daniel and John and Doris Cacciola plus a host of willing neighbors.

In the middle of the party a special character appeared. This dandy’s name is Stay Puft and he looked more like a Marshmallow Man. Stay Puft caused quite a sensation with party attendees and posed for numerous photos. FYI, not a single paparazzi appeared on the scene. Who knows when and where the dandy will appear next in PebbleCreek.

A fun time was had by all and plans are being made for a repeat event in 2015.
