PebbleCreek hikers travel far and wide to experience interesting hikes but on December 12, since they don’t like hiking in the rain, went just a short distance south of PebbleCreek to enjoy a brisk ten mile hike in Estrella Mountain Regional Park, finishing just in time to avoid an incoming weather system. The park has many scenic trails and most are relatively easy and can be combined in various ways to match the abilities of different hiking groups; if the winter rains cooperate, this is also a great area for poppies in the spring. The club conducts interesting hikes five days a week for almost every level of fitness; meetings are held in the Tuscany Ballroom on the third Thursday of the month. Visit the club’s website at pchikers.org for more information and pictures.
