PCM9GA PebbleCreek Ryder Cup Challenge

The PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) entered stage 3 of their summer series with the Ryder Cup Challenge, which featured 3 holes of best ball, 3 scramble holes, and 3 holes with alternate shots. The red team faced the white team for a winner-take-all tournament on the Tuscany West course’s back 9.

Bill Lansing was captain of the red team and Ray Clements captained the white team. It was a hard-fought battle with the white team coming out victorious (26.5 points white vs. 18.5 points red). The two-man teams who won their match received $15/player and the entire winning team (white) received an additional $5/player. Players wore their red or white team colors and celebrated the match with refreshments and awards at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.

The summer series continued with the closing tournament, stage 4—We Survived the Summer, which included prizes, food, and beverages.

Earlier in the month, the Niners held an Arizona Shuffle Tournament, which was won by Mark Eichkorn, Jim Halbmaier, David Kennedy, and Kerry Walsh. Additionally, Sam Ellis continued to host a new members’ breakfast to ensure players get the most out of the club.

With the PebbleCreek courses closing in October for winter seeding, the Niners will play 18 holes at both the Verrado Founders course and at Falcon Dunes. See you on the green!
