Fall 2022 means a packed schedule for the PebbleCreek Democratic Club—with political and campaign events, social activities, and continuing collections to benefit community groups in need.

Between now and the 2022 General Election on Nov. 8, club members will continue to actively support county and statewide candidates and initiatives by gathering petition signatures, writing postcards, phone banking, putting up signs, and hosting fundraising events. In addition, they will be participating in campaign rallies, distributing voter guides to provide educational information, helping to register new voters, and supporting our new Legislative District, LD 29.

Our first social activity is our ‘Welcome Back and Blast to the Past’ dinner-dance on Oct. 28 in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Tickets will be available at the Oct. 5 Club meeting. This party provides a chance to bring back your favorite outfit from your favorite fashion era, whether it’s the ‘50s, ‘60s, or ‘70s—or maybe even the big shoulders and big hair of the ‘80s!

Our monthly Men’s Breakfasts on the second Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. at Eagle’s Nest continued all summer, but the monthly Women’s Luncheons resumed in September and the Everyone Welcome Saturday Morning Breakfasts (8 a.m. at Eagle’s Nest) will start again in October. In addition, newcomers’ activities, singles group events, and game nights are all back up and running.

Since the last meeting in May, the Community Service committee has continued to collect donations and cash contributions for Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank ($500 cash and 221 pounds of food); for Hope’s Closet (19 blankets, queen-size sheet set, 205 pounds of clothing, and five bags of linens and household goods); for the Phoenix Mission (618 pounds of clothing and shoes); and Meals of Joy (several pounds of industrial jars of condiments).

Details for all events and information about the club is available on the club website at PCDemClub.org. Club members also receive information by email. Our next meeting is Oct. 5 at Tuscany Ballroom. The social hour starts at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m. Julie Gunnigle, Esq., candidate for Maricopa County Attorney is the speaker that evening. Our meetings are open to all and no advance registration is required.
