As a tribute to the same tournament held a year ago in 2020, the PCL9GA’s Member-Member Tournament theme this year was fittingly titled Swinging in the Rain. Golfers were assigned to flights under the headings of Precips, Raindrops, and Monsoons.
Held on March 9 and 10, rain hats, galoshes, and umbrellas were not needed. Rather, 172 tournament participants had to overcome gusty afternoon winds on Tuscany Falls East and West courses.
Co-chairs Marcy Arbelbide and Kris Robinson planned and executed a fun-filled two-day event in which Lady 9ers were provided snacks and prizes or gifts each day. On the first day, tournament pairs played 2-person best ball. The second day game was a scramble. The tournament culminated in root beer floats served on the course at the end of day two.
PCL9GA’s Member-Member Tournament was sponsored by several local businesses. Gold Sponsor: Donna Strand, RealtyONEGroup. Silver Sponsors: Sherry Myers, Farm and Family Insurance; Karen Reuland, RealtyONEGroup; and Nichole Johnston, Cosmetologist, Thairapy Salon. Bronze Sponsor: Doug McNelley, Apex Window Cleaning.
PCL9GA is committed to offering its members special events like the Member-Member Golf Tournament. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are not yet able to include the social activities that would normally follow, such as a shared meal or gathering among participants.
