The Frisco Kid debuts in PebbleCreek—Rabbi Avram Belinski (Gene Wilder) arrives in Philadelphia from Poland en route to San Francisco where he will be a congregation’s new rabbi. He carries with him a Torah Scroll for the San Francisco synagogue. The Rabbi stumbles into three con men and is robbed and his belongings are scattered along a deserted road in Amish country (who surprisingly resemble him). Rabbi Belinski makes a new friend Tommy Lilliard (Harrison Ford) and continues across the country with many hilarious encounters, pranks and Jewish misunderstandings; two misfit partners that have a wonderful adventure.
Munch on our supplied popcorn and laugh away. It’s a great start to the New Year and Chai High’s fourth in the Jewish education series. (Please bring your own drink.)
So—come and join our club for this the January 5 meeting as well as future lectures; you will learn about the Crypto Judaic Jews, Kabala Part 2 and other wonderful topics. (The Yam Hashoah program is still in development but the date is set.)
Please email Brenda Hyman ([email protected]) for sign-up. Each email will be time stamped and once capacity is reached (40 guests) you will be wait-listed.
Mark your calendars for these future dates:
