Diamond in the Rough
The season began on November 15 with the opening event Diamond in the Rough Tournament. Co-chairs Dee Reynolds and Pam Grimwood planned a special day of golf and socializing. Lunch before and awards and dessert following golf were at Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Because of cart path restrictions on the Tuscany Falls Golf Courses, golf was played at Eagle’s Nest. The first place team for Eagle’s Nest front was Anna Schuchman, Marty McAllister, Cathy Dosch and Cindy Gramm. The first place team for Eagle’s Nest back was Carol Schumacher, Nancy Burton, Gwen Philip and Jackie Voccola.
Sleigh Bells Ring
A holiday cocktail party for PCL9GA members and their special guests was held at Eagle’s Nest Ballroom on Thursday, December 8 at 5:30 p.m. There was food, drinks and music by harpist Nancy Davis. This special event was planned by Karen Morgan and Pat Engelmann, social committee co-chairs.
City of Goodyear annual Toy Drive
Every year the Lady Niners support the City of Goodyear annual Toy Drive. On December 6 the Goodyear Fire Department came to PebbleCreek to collect the monetary donations and toys for needy children in the Goodyear area. Thanks to Wally Campbell this will be the ninth year the Lady Niners have supported this project. Besides toys, more than $900 was donated by the PebbleCreek ladies.
Memory Matters
The annual charity tournament will be held on January 19. This year’s theme is Memory Matters which supports Alzheimer’s Research. Donations are being accepted for the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest.
