What a delightful day. Perfect weather and organizer Joe Lupo was there to greet us and steer us to our seats. They had a delicious lunch buffet for us with brisket and roast turkey breast, salads, veggies and wonderful desserts. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs and brought drinks from the bar. The pari-mutual windows were just behind the buffet and very convenient. Letsgoracingboys was our big winner. There were a few PebbleCreekers who did bet and win Race No. 2, The PebbleCreek Italian American Club Purse. Our winners had the biggest smiles and the writer of this article was one of them. Unfortunately, that was the only winner he had. He thinks his horse in the 8th is still out there somewhere.
Before the summer break, available club members did enjoy the final club meeting on Wednesday evening (May 13, 2015) in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. Plans and events for the fall were discussed and the evening ended with a Salute Festa. Club members shared a little vino or other drink, snacks and conversations focused on everyone’s summer plans.
The PebbleCreek Italian American Club is open to all PebbleCreekers. Come and join us as a guest and meet some fun loving, social folks at our next meeting Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. (socializing starts at 6:30 p.m.) in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom.
