Neighbors of West La Reata Avenue celebrated American Airlines retiree Jeff Tompkins with a splash. The W. La Reata Ave. residents choreographed an adaptation of the traditional “water salute,” where fire trucks shoot an arc of water over the incoming jet of a pilot on his last flight. Since this honor is not practiced at the airports anymore, this neighborhood friendly street decided to bring Jeff home in style with a water salute of their own, over his car!
