Jennifer Smith, Facilitator
The Breast Cancer Discussion Group will be meeting for Breakfast at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant on Thursday, May 23 at 9 a.m. In lieu of regular meetings we have found getting together for breakfast during the summer months has been a great time to get together and catch up. We will also meet for breakfast the fourth Thursday of June, July, and August, and then will resume our meetings in our regular meeting room in September. We are so privileged to have Dr. Shildt, retired oncologist, with us during the fall/winter months. We feel fortunate we can continue our gathering in the summer months as we do enjoy our time together.
We encourage you to join us for breakfast if you are facing surgery, recovering from surgery, thinking about reconstruction, or just need a group to talk to about your cancer journey. We have many cancer survivors in our group, and we want you to know that we are here for you. This is a great opportunity to learn from others who are also going through breast cancer. We have a fun group and do a lot of laughing, as laughter is an important part of healing. It is also important to know that our support group is confidential and a safe place to share.
A special gift may be waiting for you! It is important that we hear from any resident who has treatment pending, as we have a special pillow, made by the PebbleCreek Sewing Club, that we would like to give to you. The pillows provide immediate comfort following surgery or reconstruction. If you want to chat, receive a pillow, or get more information, please call Jennifer Smith at 602-618-1203.
Please RSVP to Jennifer Smith at 602-618-1203 or [email protected] by May 21 for our breakfast get–together on Thursday, May 23 at 9 a.m. at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant. We hope to see you there!
