On June 2, exactly one year after Bill Segal’s unexpected passing, 13 people gathered at the North pickleball courts in his honor.
As many PebbleCreek pickleballers know, there is a special donated table with an attached “Bill Segal Memorial Plaque” located at the North courts. Huddling around the table and consuming special beverages and foods, the group shared many Bill Segal stories, memories, laughs, etc.
A special “thanks” to Joe Lorino who was the primary organizer of this sad (but fun) event.
Bill was known by many as a Gentle Giant having a larger-than-life personality both on and off the courts. He served as a pickleball instructor, and made excellent friendships with his bocce ball teams, pickleball groups, poker group, and of course he and his wife, Maureen enjoyed the many various Happy Hour happenings in PebbleCreek.
Although one whole year has gone by, the “special table” continues to be a reminder of that fun-loving, all around good guy—Bill Segal!
