The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek is pleased to have PebbleCreek resident Lori Agazio, a volunteer with Barb’s Dog Rescue of Rocky Point, as guest speaker at our general membership meeting on Jan. 12. We will meet at 3 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center. All PebbleCreek residents are invited to attend, whether club members or not. There is no charge.

While vacationing in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico (Rocky Point), Lori visited Barb’s Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue, and was introduced to its founder, Barb Mumaugh, an American woman. Lori was very impressed with the rescue’s mission of saving, rehabilitating, and re-homing hundreds of malnourished, injured, and sick local stray dogs, never refusing refuge. At any given time, there is an average of 350 dogs and puppies at the rescue being cared for. They will be all sizes, ages, and breeds.

Join us Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. to learn what happens to the dogs to get them ready for adoption, where they ultimately may go, and what is necessary for all this to happen. Lori has been instrumental in placing at least two of these rescued dogs in loving PebbleCreek homes.

As always, a donation box will be available at the meeting for pet-related items such as pet toys, pet food (check expiration dates), leashes, collars, cages, blankets, etc. Those items not used for our PebbleCreek rescues will be donated to other local animal rescues.
