El Nino’s whacky weather patterns failed to dampen the spirits of the 626 Bocce enthusiasts who braved chilly morning and evening temperatures to compete in the PebbleCreek Bocce Association’s 2016 Winter Season.
At press time, members of the 64 Day and Night League teams were looking forward to more seasonal temperatures as regular play ends on March 11 and preparations get underway for the annual Bocce League Picnic on March 16 at Sunrise Park.
Picnic participants will gather at noon to enjoy a great meal and to wait for the announcement of which teams captured the Day and Night Leagues’ Winter Season Grand Championships.
Also on March 16 at 9:00 a.m. in the Chianti Room at Tuscany Falls Clubhouse, a Captains Meeting will be held in preparation for the start of the Spring Season, which will run from March 22 to May 13.
The PebbleCreek Bocce Ball Association’s Board of Directors is extremely proud of the community’s beautiful Bocce Complex at Eagle’s Nest and is anxious for all residents to experience the fun and camaraderie shared by participants in the Day and Night Leagues.
Even though the deadline has passed for mail-in registration for the Spring Season, PebbleCreek residents who want to participate still have time to register, in person, on Monday, February 29 from 10:00 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, March 1 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse kiosk. For further registration information contact Treasurer Mollie McErlean at 623-935-2822 or [email protected].
Special Note: Two members of the Bocce Bandits team, Co-Captain Dave Ruedlin and Jan Ruedlin, were not pictured in the Grand Champion Bocce Bandits photograph that appeared in the February edition of the PebbleCreek Post. Vivian Klick, who was pictured, is not a member of the team.
