Hole in One – July 2026

Another Ace for Claudia Tiger

Claudia Tiger and Amber Rivera

The golf gods were smiling on Claudia Tiger on Saturday, May 23, 2026, when she recorded a hole-in-one on Eagle’s Nest No. 8.

Playing 132 yards from the white tees into a slight breeze, Claudia pulled out her 5-wood and struck what she knew was a solid shot. The ball landed on the left side of the green but then seemed to disappear.

Playing partners Sally Babbitt and Chris Urbatchka saw the ball take off towards the green. Although no one actually saw the ball go into the hole, the group immediately began speculating. Sally thought it might have rolled off the back of the green, while Claudia wondered if it had trickled off the right side.

Fortunately, someone decided to take a peek inside the cup.

There, resting at the bottom of the hole, was Claudia’s yellow Callaway Super Soft golf ball. Surprise quickly turned into celebration as the group realized they had just seen an ace!

Adding to the fun, Kurt and Suzanne Eleam, along with Barb and Bill McKinney, were playing behind Claudia’s group and arrived just in time to enjoy the excitement and photo session.

This marks Claudia’s second career hole-in-one. Her first came nearly 26 years ago in July 1999 at Wakefield Valley in Westminster, Md. While she has also experienced two “reload” hole-in-ones that resulted in pars rather than official aces, this one counts in the record books.

As Claudia put it best, it was “a good shot combined with the luck of the hole getting in the way.”

Congratulations, Claudia, on an unforgettable day and another ace!

Congratulations to Diana Hull on her first hole-in-one!

Ace After 50 Years!

Amber Rivera

After 50 years of playing golf, Diana Hull finally enjoyed every golfer’s dream on May 29, 2026, when she carded her first hole-in-one on Eagles Nest Hole #17.

The hole was playing 100 yards, and Diana selected her 5-iron for the shot. The ball traveled toward the green and found its way into the cup, turning an ordinary round of golf into an unforgettable day.

Witnessing the exciting moment were Sue White, Judy Layton, and Kathleen Carney, who had the pleasure of watching Diana’s celebrated achievement.

For many golfers, a hole-in-one remains an elusive accomplishment. For Diana, the wait lasted five decades, making the moment even sweeter. Her ace serves as a reminder that one of the great joys of golf is that no matter how long you’ve been playing, the game can still surprise you.

Congratulations to Diana Hull on her first hole-in-one and on achieving a milestone that was truly 50 years in the making. Here’s to many more memorable rounds and the story of a lifetime to share with fellow golfers.

Kyler Kenney savors his 6th hole-in-one even though he did not see his shot at all!

Kyler Kenney Scores His Sixth Ace at Tuscany Falls West

Howie Tiger

On May 26, 2026, Kyler Kenney made a hole-in-one on hole number 3 at Tuscany Falls West. This was Kyler’s sixth career hole-in-one. He made it while playing in his regular golf group, the Wild Bunch.

The 3rd hole was playing 148 yards from the white tees to a right middle pin-position. Kyler’s playing partners were Chuck Veltri, Ed Neel, and Rich Jesko. Kyler hit his 6 hybrid very thin and very low. It was so thin that Kyler just looked away as he did not think his ball would even reach the green. Chuck saw the low shot and believed the ball disappeared over a slight hill. Kyler was the first one to arrive at the green. He did not see his ball anywhere, so he checked the hole. Much to his surprise, there it was. The celebration began! The Wild Bunch has a hole-in-one fund and this ace was the first one of the year.

As background, Kyler was born and raised in Portland, Ore. He graduated from Portland State University with a Business degree in Economics and Accounting. He spent his career as an accountant mostly working for nonprofit clubs and religious organizations.

He’s been playing golf for over 50 years, mostly with a single digit handicap. In his golf career, he’s had 4 holes-in-one at Riverside CC in Portland, Maine, and one other on the 12th hole at Eagles Nest. He’s been playing in the Wild Bunch golf group here in PebbleCreek for 25 years.

Aside from golf, Kyler enjoys flying radio-controlled airplanes. He’s been doing that for 6 years and admitted this hobby has a “learning curve” for sure. He had some early mishaps but he now considers himself an “advanced-intermediate” flyer.

Congrats on this sixth ace!

Lee Havener celebrates his latest hole-in-one.

Lee Havener Makes His Fifth Ace at Eagle’s Nest

Howie Tiger

On April 24, Lee Havener made a hole-in-one on the 12th hole at Eagles Nest. This was Lee’s fifth career hole-in-one in his 60th year playing golf. He made it while playing in his regular golf group, Los Caballeros.

The 12th hole was playing 148 yards from the white tees to a front-left pin position. Lee’s playing partners were Jerry Treece, Jan Cralle, and Larry Dick. Lee hit his 7-iron with a high trajectory straight at the flagstick. As they could not see the bottom of the flagstick from the tee, Lee nor any of his playing partners saw the ball go in.

Jerry was the first to arrive at the green. As Lee approached the green, he saw Jerry holding the flagstick. Jerry asked Lee, “Do you have your wallet? Do you have money?” Lee responded, “Why do I need money?” Jerry told Lee “Come here and look at this!” He points to the ball in the hole. The celebration began.

Lee made his first hole-in-one back in the 1970s at Brandywine Country Club in Maumee, Ohio. In 1993, he made his second at Riverside Golf & Country Club in Portland, Ore. That’s also where he made his next one in 1998. A few years later he made his fourth ace there. This one was his first at PebbleCreek.

Lee was born and raised in Pasadena, Calif. His family seemed to move every two years or so around southern California based on his father’s job. He graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business. He then went on to graduate school there and earned his master’s degree in Marketing. He also served six years in the Air National Guard, so we thank him for his service.

He started his working career at Owens Corning Corporation and spent 20 years there learning all there is about the mechanical insulation industry. He spent the rest of his career at several companies all focused on mechanical insulation.

Originally, Lee played golf left handed like all other sports that he played growing up. After playing golf for 8 years, his father-inlaw (an accomplished golfer) convinced him to play right handed. Who knows how many holes-in-one he would have made if he still played left handed. Maybe more than five, then again, maybe none!

Lee and his wife, Donna, moved to PebbleCreek in 2002 as snowbirds. In 2009, they made PebbleCreek their full time home. They believe that PebbleCreek is absolutely the best place to live!

Congrats on that fifth ace. Lee’s also glad he had enough money on him to pay that bar bill!
