The Sewing and Quilting Clubs are co-hosting a PebbleCreek Community Service Event. Even if you aren’t a member of any club but know how to sew, we would love you to join us.
The New Life Center received a donation of a number of king size comforters and have asked us to resize them to fit the twin size bunk beds at the shelter. This is a pretty large task and we appreciate all the help we can get. Many of our PC residents are volunteers at New Life Center which is a local shelter offering safety and service to families seeking independent and violence-free lives.
This event will be held on Tuesday, August 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Diamondback Room at the Creative Arts Center. Please bring your sewing machines, sergers, scissors, thread and a sack lunch. We will provide the instructions, comforters, assistance and an after lunch ice cream sundae for all the friends helping on this project. The New Life Center will be picking up the newly sized twin comforters the next day, so there will be lots of cutting and sewing going on.
We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions or need further information, contact Donna Aybar at [email protected].
