After a very challenging season of travel to all corners of the valley, The PebbleCreek Peppers earned their way to an even more competitive level by finishing second in their division in the Women’s Interclub Tennis League (WITL). They will now compete at the A-2 level, which is only one away from the very top. Many of the Peppers players are rated 4.0 or higher. The WITL hosts 123 teams represented by 38 clubs and lists 1500 women tennis players in the Phoenix area who play weekly in a double round robin format. Not a senior league, the WITL opens participation starting at 19 years of age. The season runs from late September through April. After leading the team to achieve their goal, Captain Bonnie Elliott stated, “I’m so proud of our team for doing so great!” For their end of season meeting, the team celebrated with a luncheon at the home of Co-Captain Heidi Farrell.
