Bonnie Relic
The twentieth annual PCLGA Member/Guest Tournament was held on April 12 through 14. The theme of this year’s tournament was Margaritaville—it’s five o’clock somewhere! The Member/Guest Committee was a hard working and creative group of women consisting of Chair Bonnie Relic, Dede Good, Vicki Norrie, Shirley Gillespie, Karen Reuland, Jane Wiederhold, Nancy Kyle, Jill Lewis, Glenda Spohr, Sue Abercrombie, Sharon Johnson, Char Held, Lisa Smith, Nancy Williams, Nancy DerManuel and Susan Franzone.
Sunday morning began with the committee turning the Tuscany Falls Ballroom into a tropical paradise. The tables were decorated with colorful flower bouquet centerpieces and flip flops. There were tropical decorations all around the ballroom. It was a beautiful sight! Festivities began at 2:00 p.m. with Skills Challenges, buying raffle tickets, team pictures, betting on your favorite team and enjoying margaritas with chips and salsa.
The ballroom door was opened at 5:30 p.m. with the music of Sean Mireau and the Volcano Island Band. Thanking all our sponsors and special guests was followed by a wonderful dinner prepared by Chef Jonathan. After dinner there was dancing; a fun time was had by all.
Golf started at 8:30 a.m. on Monday with flights One through three (Blue Hawaiian, Tequila Sunrise and Mai Tai) playing a Shamble at Eagle’s Nest. Flights four through six (Pina Colada, Margarita and Caribbean Breeze) played Hero Ball at Falls/Palms. After golf a boxed lunch was enjoyed on the patio at the course.
After golf on Tuesday there was an awards luncheon in the ballroom of Tuscany Falls. Raffle prize and Money Tree winners were announced as were winners in each flight.
