David Wilson
PebbleCreek resident David Wilson was a featured author at the prestigious Los Angeles Times 2015 Festival of Books. The two day event, which drew over 150,000, was held April 18 and 19 on the campus of the University of Southern California. Dr. Wilson was on the panel, “Whose Life is it Anyway? Approaches to Writing Memoir Conversations,” with two other authors Bernard Cooper and Sandra Tsing Loh. The panel focused on the question of truth or fiction in a memoir.
Dr. Wilson’s book, The Dresden Manuscripts: Unearthing an 18th Musical Genius chronicles his thirty year quest to locate, reconstruct and perform the music of Johann Adolf Hasse, a contemporary of Bach, Handel, Mozart and Haydn who, though lauded in his day, due to cataclysmic events, was soon forgotten. Many PebbleCreekers have read his book and it has received high praise. Copies are available in the Arts Center and the PebbleCreek libraries.
