PebbleCreek Art Club October Monthly Meeting

Glenn Ishibashi, winner of the pumpkin decorating contest

Susan Skolnik

The PebbleCreek Art Club held its October meeting on Oct. 29 in the Coyote Room of the Activity Center in Tuscany Falls. Coffee and pastries were made available for members while they socialized and perused the pumpkins, which had been creatively decorated by members. The winner of the decorating contest was Glenn Ishibashi, whose carved pumpkin featuring a witch flying on her broomstick garnered him a free one-year membership.

The meeting was called to order by the club president, Sylvia Armstrong, who updated the club on progress for the annual Art Show and Sale, held on Nov. 12 in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. All available tickets, 600 in all, had been distributed, and the show was officially determined to be sold out.

We are excited to have 199 members in the club, thanks to a successful membership drive in October. The list of classes and workshops available for club members, and many for non-club members, continues to grow, thanks to Erika Grande and Shoray Wolfe. A basic watercolor class was offered on Oct. 28 with instructor Linda Burriss, who will also present a watercolor workshop featuring instructions for creating watercolor holiday cards. Please visit our website at www.pcartclub.org to see all the classes, workshops, and other activities the club offers. You’re sure to find a medium that you enjoy.
