PebbleCreek Community Church Seeks Music Director

Larry Sessoms

Ours is a community of amazing talents. Thus, we turn first to you in our search for a director of music, replacing Donna Giocomo, who will be leaving us after years of wonderful service to PebbleCreek Community Church. This is a paid, part-time position.

The music director leads our 30-member choir, but there is much more to the job. As a member of our Worship Committee, and working with Pastor Bob Ripley, the music director helps identify choir songs and other music to go along with the weekly sermon and other aspects of our Sunday worship services. There are also special services, such as our Christmas Eve service, Christmas concert, Easter cantata, and Veterans Day services, just to name a few.

The director actively participates in our services, introducing songs and other music, leading the choir, and playing the piano and keyboard when others are not available. The director is encouraged to diversify our music worship experience by seeking outside talent from other area churches and elsewhere. Music touches all of our lives, and we seek a director who will create a music ministry to reach out and serve the variety of Christian backgrounds within our PebbleCreek community.

We would like for our new director of music to hold a degree in music and have several years of experience in leading adult choirs. This includes a demonstrated capability of expressing faith through music and action. While formal membership in our community church is not a prerequisite, the director is very much involved in our worship services, and a commitment to our statement of faith, as contained in our constitution, is a requirement.

Should you have an interest, we ask that you email Pastor Bob Ripley at [email protected]. Please include in your note a little about your background and reasons for your interest. You may learn more about our church by visiting our website at www.churchpcc.org. And, of course, all are welcome to join us Sunday mornings in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom for worship services at 9 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship.
