PCSSA spring season begins

Fred Dresser

Just when you thought the Senior Softball Season was coming to an end, along comes the Spring Season for Senior Softball. Those die-hard seniors that just can’t seem to get enough of the game will start play the second week of April.

The Spring Season is considerably shorter due to the colder temperatures in April, May and June. Make no mistake, the games are just as competitive as bragging rights are on the line.

One big difference is that volunteer umpires are used to umpire the games. These volunteer umpires are the players themselves. Before you start thinking, the players playing the game are making the calls? The umpires are players who have already played their game or their game is scheduled later. Needless to say, it pays to be nice to your fellow players during this season.
