PC Quilters spring luncheon a success

Marlene M. Kuskie

Over 90 members of the PC Quilters gathered April 16, 2018 in the Tuscany Ballroom to enjoy social time, share their latest quilting projects, listen to a speaker and participate in an auction of an antique quilt from Sue Godwin’s estate.

The highlight of the Spring 2018 Luncheon was a presentation and trunk showing by Mary McElvian. Mary shared her experiences of owning a quilt store and now as the author of several quilting books and patterns. It was fascinating to see how a quilt presented when the same pattern was used but different color waves of fabrics were used. She works closely with her daughter in creating and publishing their works.

The showing of quilts continued with Show and Tell by club members. This is always a highlight at every meeting. Everyone looks forward to the latest in creations as well as those projects that have waited to be finished for a long time. Everyone is encouraged to check out the photos on our website pebblecreekquilters.org. Seeing fellow member’s creations spark everyone to plan their next quilting project.

In addition to a delicious lunch, door prizes were given and others were recognized such as the winners of the Viewer’s Choice from the Spring 2018 Quilt Show, community service projects in progress or completed and continuing education workshops.
