Six PebbleCreek Woodcarvers entered projects in the Desert Woodcarver’s Show and Sale held Feb. 24 through 26 at the Mesa Convention Center. There are four divisions: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Open. There are numerous categories in each division depending on the type of carving entered. The categories are further placed in groups.

Linda Mirro (woodpecker), Diana Ho (spoon study), Robert Sellers (bald eagle) and Alan Collinsworth (orca), were awarded first place in their respective Novice categories. Diana, Robert, and Alan also won first place in their group. Alan’s orca, carved out of yellow cedar, won overall third place Best in Novice. In the Intermediate carver division David Linth took home two seconds (nesting Viking ships, native children with dog) and a third (native children with sled).

Congratulations, PebbleCreek carvers!
