Reminders

* A player should never have two paddles in either the Drop In or Open Play boxes.

* Paddles should only be put in an Open Play box when there are four paddles and four players ready to play.

* In Open Play, the necklace/rope is moved to indicate next in line; no one needs to physically move the paddles to the front of the box.

* Drop In Play: Please respect the posted level of play. When there are four or more eligible players at a court, please let them have the court for their level. This is especially true for the 2.0-2.5 court and the 4.0 and above court. The 3.0 and 3.5 levels have a minimum of two courts to play; however, the 2.0 and 4.0 above players have only one court each.

* When parking in front of courts 13-16, backing into the space helps eliminate the problem for players of sun glare off the windshields in this area. Thank you.

* As the temperatures heat up, consider sharing a paddle with another player at your level in the Round Robins. Only one player signs up, then the two players alternate playing the games. The more, the merrier, right?

Volunteer Spotlight: Felechia Justice

If you haven’t met Felechia yet, you should. She is a big part of what keeps our club ticking along. Working behind the scenes, Felechia recreated our club website last year and produces the club newsletter and club flyers for our various events throughout the year.

Volunteering to help the club is only a small part of who Felechia is and what Felechia does as a semi-retired marketing and communications specialist for 30 years. She’s worked for GE Security as their Corporate Event Manager and personally managed over 120 events per year and still operates, on a part-time basis, her event planning business that she’s owned for the last 10 years. What you may not know is that she is married to Jeff Antrican, our past club vice president. Volunteering must be a family thing. They moved from Oregon to PebbleCreek in September 2018. Felechia also enjoys working on the computer, ceramics, baking, and playing pickleball. For Felechia, “Life is great!”

Bob Weldon’s Tip of the Month

Always keep your weight forward and be light on your feet. Keep your hands in front and try to hit with the paddle extended in front rather than at your side or behind you.
