Ken and Lenore Semmler are long time Arizona residents. Ken was born in North Dakota and Lenore was born in Queens, New York. They met in Goodyear, Arizona in 1956 and were married here in 1959. Lenore has been a singer in PebbleCreek Singers for 19 years; she also participates in ShowTime and the Historical Society. She loves to read and calls herself a “bookworm.”

Ken spent 20 years in the Navy as a meteorologist and retired in 1975. They have two children. Their daughter, Kristen Pacot, has given them one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Their son Mark has given them three grandchildren.

Barbara and Jim Grimm moved to PebbleCreek in November of 2014 from Bloomington, Illinois. Barbara was born in Green Bay, then moved to Antigo, Wisconsin as a child. She graduated from the University of Iowa and taught first grade in Cedar Rapids. She earned an M.A. degree in Instructional Media/Library from Illinois State University. Subsequently, she taught in Unit 5 School District (Normal) until her retirement in 2003. Her interests are reading, knitting, exercise, playing the piano, cooking and travel.

Jim was born in rural Iowa, growing up on farms in the North English-Millersburg vicinity. His undergraduate degree was from Central College in Pella, Iowa. After teaching in high school, he earned his MBA from Indiana University and then accepted a teaching position at Coe College where he met Barbara. When Jim was teaching at the University of Akron, he began a doctoral program at Kent State. Upon earning his doctorate degree, he accepted a position in marketing at Illinois State University, retiring in 2000.

Joe and Liz Arnold are among PCCC’s newest attenders. Tippy is Liz’s certified service hearing-ear dog.
