On April 6 about 30 members of Le Cercle Français dined for lunch on the outside patio of the Vogue Restaurant in Surprise, Arizona, one of the West Valley’s favorite casual bistros. This small, friendly neighborhood bistro, featuring Chef Aurore’s food, is always a special occasion for the PebbleCreek French conversation group. For several years Chef Aurore has treated the members to French inspired menu items cooked especially for them such as baked escargot, pissaladière (a pizza like dish) and wonderful Grand Marnier flavored crêpes.

Chef Aurore de Beauday, a graduate of the Cordon Bleu Culinary School in France, surprised the group this year by coming out to sing French songs with them after lunch including the French National Anthem, La Marseillaise. To thank her for her graciousness and joie de vivre hospitality, the group sent her a tri-color (red, white and blue) floral arrangement as a thank you.
