Karla Heinz
Barbara and her husband, Sandy, moved to PebbleCreek many years ago from Washington state, have downsized, and now live in the Villas here at PebbleCreek. Barbara spent her career with Honeywell as a mechanical inspector and a source inspector. Her division made data recorders (black boxes, which are actually orange) and circuit boards.
Prior to PebbleCreek, Barbara loved traveling, cruising, hot air balloons, golf vacations, cross-country skiing, and stained glass art. In addition, she still has a love of the great outdoors in the Northwest and Mt. Rainier.
Since coming to PebbleCreek, Barbara has also found a love for other art forms, such as ceramics, acrylic painting, stained glass, and stamping (card making). Her recreation time is spent cruising (when they can), golfing, playing games such as Hand and Foot, Push, Bunco, Bocce Ball, Mahjongg, and Mexican Train. Of course, she is a regular in the Glass Art Club room as a glass artist, making beautiful works of art to sell in the gallery and to give as gifts for others.
Barbara is an original member of the PebbleCreek Glass Arts Club (PCGAC), being a member since the beginning of the club. She has served as president, instructor of beginning glass classes, instructor of jewelry classes, and is currently on the board as the vice president (second term). Barb’s duties as vice president are making sure the equipment in the room is in good working condition, ordering supplies, and managing the room. Barbara’s passion for fused glass rubs off on the members, and she teaches others how to be a good steward of the glass room.
Barbara also acts as a mentor and helper to anyone in the room who needs assistance. You can find many of Barbara’s beautiful pieces of art in our window or for sale in the gallery.
