The Broadway Concerts bring to the stage the greatest hits of Broadway and the West End in one massive show of blockbusters. Southern Arizona Old West and Wine Bus Tour – June 11 and 12
Explore some of southern Arizona’s treasures. Visit Tombstone, the Town Too Tough to Die, and enjoy wine tasting at some of Arizona’s premier wineries. Day one: Depart the Valley and travel to Tombstone, the Town Too Tough to Die. Tombstone is a historic western city, founded in 1879 by Ed Schieffelin in what was then Pima County, Arizona Territory. You will visit the Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park, the Bird Cage Theater, OK Corral and Boot Hill Cemetery. Love the One You’re With – A Salute to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Concert – June 20; Starring: Five Way Street – Renaissance Theatre
David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young are each unbelievable songwriters and solo artists in their own right, but when their voices came together they created legendary harmonies and songs that have come to define a generation. The Amazing Dueling Pianos Show – September 18, 2015 – Renaissance Theatre
Dueling Pianos has been one of the hottest live entertainment formats for over 30 years. The Tokens Live in Concert– September 26, 2015 – Renaissance Theatre
In 1961 The Tokens, four boys from Brooklyn, recorded The Lion Sleeps Tonight on the RCA label. The song (originally a Zulu folk song called M’bube and Anglicized to Wimoweh) soared up the charts to become the number one hit in the nation. To date, it has sold over 15 million copies and is known throughout the world. In a survey conducted by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Record Industry Association of America, The Tokens’ classic recording of The Lion Sleeps Tonight placed 159th in the top 365 records of all time. The band’s other hits include Tonight I Fell In Love, I Hear Trumpets Blow and Portrait of My Love. They have also produced many number one recordings for groups such as The Chiffons (He’s So Fine and One Fine Day), The Happenings (See You In September and I Got Rhythm) and Tony Orlando and Dawn (Candida, Knock Three Times and Tie A Yellow Ribbon.) True rock pioneers, they were among the first to successfully use the falsetto lead voice, a sound that later influenced groups from the Four Seasons and the Beach Boys to Led Zeppelin and Rush. They were also the first group to play their own instrument tracks for recording sessions. In 1998 The Tokens became the first and only group to sing the National Anthem in all major league ballparks in one season. This accomplishment landed them into the Guinness Book of World Records. On July 6 of 2005, The Tokens were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Their blend of showmanship humor and excellent musicianship has made them a favorite headliner throughout the world. Cory McCloskey, from FOX 10 in Phoenix and TAD Management have teamed up to bring the ship to you! (Well, the show at least!) The music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons comes to life in this recreation of a Frankie Valli Concert experience. December ‘63 showcases all your favorite songs from Frankie Valli including the one of a kind classics that have been thrilling audiences for decades including everyone’s most popular singles from the musical The Jersey Boys.
Before The Beatles landed on the shores of the United States, The Four Seasons were the most popular band in the country. The British Invasion created a huge shift in American pop music tastes but yet, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons continued to knock out hits. The Four Seasons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and joined the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. They are one of the best-selling groups of all time, having sold 175 million records worldwide. In 1962, the group released their first album, featuring the single Sherry, which was not only their first charted hit but also their first number one song. The Four Seasons followed up Sherry with several million selling hits, including Big Girls Don’t Cry, (their second number one hit), Walk Like A Man (their third number one), Candy Girl and several others. From 1962 to early 1964, only The Beach Boys matched the Four Seasons in record sales in the United States.
