Unit 8 Potluck Lunch
Alisa Moore
The ladies of Unit 8 were hosted by Jodi Carlson at her lovely home on an absolutely gorgeous March afternoon. We had a great potluck lunch (everyone brought incredibly creative contributions to the salad, side dishes, and dessert offerings, and we even got to watch the air show practice for their upcoming events! Anyone interested in coming to our next soiree, please contact Jane Holdcroft at jkh2125@aol.com. We meet all year round. (Photo by Alisa Moore)

Unit 15 Monday Night Trivia
Brenda Scarbrough
The Fab 5 of Unit 15 plays Monday night trivia at Eagle’s Nest, but when neighbors build friendships the Fab Five becomes the Excellent Eleven and Monday Night Trivia becomes a weekly party! It’s something we look forward to, and it gives us a chance to exercise our brains. On March 30 the team placed second, growing our Trivia winnings for 2026.
Unit 17 Dessert Party in the Park
Judy Ayers
Unit 17 gathered in the park for dessert and friendly conversation with the neighbors one evening in April before many leave for the summer. The Unit will have more of these as it gives us a chance to have more spur–of–the–moment get-togethers without a huge amount of planning. It was a great time!

Another Night at the Ballpark for Unit 27A!
Camille Grabb
Play ball! Unit 27A’s neighbors and friends gathered on March 13 for their annual spring training night at the beautiful Goodyear Ballpark. Compared to last year’s blustery weather, this year was a perfect evening to gather around in the Right Field Pavilion tables and enjoy neighborly conversations and those famous ballpark hot dogs with a cool glass of beer! For those who like to keep score, the Cincinnati Reds beat the San Francisco Giants 1-0. See you next year!

Unit 44 Takes Over Goodyear Ballpark—Fifth Year Running!
Dan Harris
On March 16, folks from PebbleCreek’s Unit 44 headed to the Goodyear Ballpark for their fifth annual spring training outing. It was a perfect night-game evening, and the Chicago Cubs topped the Cleveland Guardians 5-2.
The group settled into their usual spot: the exclusive Terrace, which is a shaded third-floor viewing area above the third-base line with an awesome view and, more importantly, private (and clean!) bathrooms that make every visitor feel like a VIP.
The fans noshed on an all-you-can-eat buffet of typical antinutritional ballpark classics—hot dogs, chicken tenders, salad, chips, popcorn, and cookies—plus unlimited soft drinks, water, and tea. And there was a cash bar for those needing some liquid courage.
Three big highlights stole the show:
1. Ace, who is the Goodyear Ballpark mascot, visited the Terrace early in the game for the group photo.
2. A foul ball landed in the Terrace for the second year in a row! After a brief and sometimes unfriendly scramble, Darrell Livingston snagged it and handed it to his daughter Melissa—a true family keepsake.
3. When the jumbotron in left field lit up with “PebbleCreek Unit 44” in the middle of the sixth inning, all 57 attendees, including those who were jabbering while pretending to watch the game, stood up and started hootin’ and hollerin’ loudly enough to not only get noticed by all 8,008 fans, they darn near drowned out the jets from Luke Air Force Base.
Another unforgettable night of baseball, buddies, and belly laughs. Here’s to next year—may the foul balls keep flying our way and the hot dogs never run out!

Record-Low Turnout at Unit 44 Men’s Breakfast
Dan Harris
Only five hungry men from Unit 44 showed up for the monthly Men’s Breakfast on April 1 at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant—marking an all-time low in the event’s five-year history. The usual crowd was noticeably absent, with excuses reaching an all-time high. One early riser claimed an 8 a.m. golf tee time. Several cited doctor’s appointments, while others were out of town. Some stayed at home to care for wives recovering from knee surgery or dealing with Alzheimer’s. Taxes demanded unexpected attention for at least one member, and yes—a handful simply slept in on purpose. A couple of the men who attended were considerate enough to schedule their pickleball matches for 9 a.m., ensuring they wouldn’t miss the traditional feast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and the latest Unit 44 news and gossip. The sparsely attended group somberly gave thumbs up for the commemorative photo.
Neighbors Supporting Neighbors in Unit 44
Jean Harris
On March 27, Unit 44’s Debbie Baron and Deborah Crabtree were on hand to support their fellow neighbor Jean Harris and mutual friend Ann McKinley at the Date With A Plate fundraiser benefitting the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank. This annual charity event is put on by The Women’s Giving Circle of PebbleCreek, a group of women who have a common desire to make a difference in our communities. While this year’s 19 decorated tables were a highlight of the event (Jean and Ann’s table was themed “Paris is always a good idea!”), the broader story is the group’s advocacy and philanthropic support of organizations in the Phoenix West Valley.
Neighbors supporting neighbors, like we do in Unit 44, uplift everyone and is one of the things that makes PebbleCreek a great place to live, play, and give back. For anyone interested in learning more about or joining The Women’s Giving Circle, there is no better time than now. Check out their website: thewomensgivingcircle.org to learn how you can join, donate, and otherwise support this worthy group.
Unit 44’s Grape Escape to Page Springs Cellars
Dan Harris
On March 29, Unit 44’s Frank Gorski commandeered eight dedicated wine lovers and two noble teetotalers (aka the designated drivers) to pile into a 15-passenger van for a spirited adventure to Page Springs Cellars Tasting Room & Bistro in Cornville, Ariz.—just a stone’s throw from Sedona’s red rocks.
The rental van was promptly christened the Unit 44 Party Van. Complete with Scott Crabtree’s classic rock playlist blasting from a portable speaker and festive signs proclaiming “A Bunch of WINERS Making POUR Decisions,” the crew rolled out for the two-hour journey each way into the scenic Verde Valley. While the weather back home was scorching, our revelers were greeted by calm breezes and perfect “cellar-door” temperatures—ideal conditions for a proper tasting adventure.
The day kicked off in the Members Tasting Room with the first flight: five elegant pours paired with delicious hand-crafted mini pizzas. With proper lubrication underway and palates awakened, the group ventured down the hill to the second act—the much-anticipated Barrels and Burgers event in the chilly, atmospheric cellar.
The wine barrels were stacked floor-to-rafters, their contents aging gracefully in Arizona’s high-country climate. The event was a complete sell-out, with 60+ eager sippers crowding in to experience wines straight from the barrel. Proprietor and winemaker Eric Glomski entertained the crowd with tales of grape growing and the nuances of crafting some of Arizona’s finest wines—from vineyard management to the subtleties of soil selection.
As Eric spoke, everyone devoured juicy Diablo Burgers from Flagstaff (those ultra-lean, locally-sourced, grass-fed beauties clocking in at a svelte 1% fat—practically a diet burger, but still packing serious flavor when paired with the right wine). They sampled six more wines, most poured straight from the barrel, revealing bright acidity, lovely structure, and that unmistakable sense of place.
In true wine-country drama, one thrilled guest became so enamored that he started choking on a big bite of burger. Fortunately, Eric Glomski sprang into action with a quick Heimlich maneuver, saving the day, while Unit 44’s own Dr. Ron Lopez leaped from his seat, ready to provide backup medical support if needed. Crisis averted—proof that great wine events can be life-changing in more ways than one!
Now thoroughly lubricated (who wouldn’t be after 11 generous “shots” of wine?), the group was properly juiced and ready for Page Springs’ main attraction: loading up on bottles to take home! Many lined up at the counter, and a quick observation revealed the average haul was about six bottles per person.
All in all, it was a banner day for Unit 44: sampling expressive Arizona wines while savoring great food and even better company. At the end of the day, all enjoyed a mellow, music-filled drive back to PebbleCreek. Here’s to more pour decisions in the future!
Eagle’s Nest Lunch for the Unit 44 Ladies

March 10 at Eagle’s Nest was the latest venue for the lovely ladies of Unit 44 to gather together for lunch and have a good time catching up. Celebrating the fresh spring season and deepening friendships were: Barbara Kamm, Tammy LaFrazia, Peggy Hayner, Marilyn Scott, Donna Thomas, Deb Fahey, Gayle Lopez, lunch coordinator Debbie Baron, Diane Russo, and Jody Hoff.

Unit 46 Ladies at PF Chang’s
Spike Razem
The third Wednesday of each month features the Unit 46 Ladies gathering for lunch. On March 18, 15 ladies traveled to PF Chang’s at McDowell and Bullard for an enjoyable afternoon meal. Several martinis were consumed along with lettuce wraps, won ton soup, fried rice, sesame chicken, etc. And, by all reports a few of the women were showing off their skills of eating with chop sticks.
Thanks much to monthly luncheon organizers, Karen Ramberg and Tracy Kieras. (Unfortunately, Tracy was absent due to a delayed flight … ugh!)
As always, the ladies enjoyed getting together, especially to get better acquainted with newer neighbors. And, PF Chang’s provided an excellent setting for this excellent event—Hooray!

Unit 46 St. Patty’s Fun at the Ballpark!
Spike Razem
Now an annual event for Unit 46, 12 excited residents celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at the Goodyear Ballpark watching the Cleveland Guardians play their cross-Ohio rival Cincinnati Reds. The green beer was flowing, evening weather was perfect, special shamrock headgear and green-beaded necklaces were displayed, and ultimately a fun time resulted.
Guardians fans were rewarded with an 8–6 victory due especially to a 5 run rally in the 8th inning. The game featured a Rhys Hoskins home run and a 2 run double by Guards top prospect, Travis Bazzana. And of course, free beer pint glasses were given to the first 2,000 fans—Cheers!
Thanks to Susan Gildea for organizing (and somehow smuggling in Red Vines and peanuts to share). Definitely another successful and fun event for Unit 46!

Unit 46 Men on the Patio
Spike Razem
Although some of the guys were battling a St. Patrick’s Day hangover, a nice turnout of 19 Unit 46 men got up early to attend our monthly breakfast on the patio of Eagle’s Nest Restaurant on March 18.
The 70–degree weather was perfect for a nice gathering, which included some excellent stories, laughs, and good conversations. Joining us for the first time were newer neighbors, Richard Cook and Bill Aicega, along with Ty Lingus’ dad, Tim. Adding to the informative discussion was Robson’s own Mark Virden, a Unit 46 resident and often featured as Sales Person of the Month in the PebbleCreek Post. Mark was able to advise the quantity of lots still available in Unit 46 (3 total) along with lots available in all of PebbleCreek (73 total).
Sooooo, there’s still time to tell your family and friends about the opportunity to buy a lot and build your dream house in this fantastic community.
As most agreed amongst our breakfast group of men, we’re all very fortunate and blessed to reside here in PebbleCreek.
Unit 48 Spring Training Event
Rochelle Zuckerbrow
On March 20, more than 50 neighbors from Unit 48 attended a spring training game. We had a great view from the terrace. One of our guests even got a foul ball! The Goodyear Ballpark did a great job at hosting us with a nice buffet. We even got a shout–out on the marquee!
Unit 51 April Ladies’ Luncheon
Janet Miazga
Our Unit 51 April Ladies’ Luncheon was attended by 17 gals who enjoyed their lunch at the Royal Jasmine Thai Restaurant in Goodyear. Our hosts, Jerri Christensen and Karen McFall, decorated with an Easter theme—lovely table runner, bunnies, and baskets, and candy treats for all. It was quite a festive occasion for sure—our monthly luncheons are always a great time!
Unit 51 March Ladies’ Luncheon

There was no mistaking it was the month of St. Patrick’s Day at our March Ladies’ Luncheon. Our hostesses, Bevy Hogan and Jennifer Yelvington, had our dining table decorated with felt shamrocks, sparkly green runners, and bowls full of decorative desserts, along with a green vial of blow bubbles for each of the 16 guests. We enjoyed a special lunch at Lazy Bird, a nice new restaurant at Park West, Peoria. It was a fun time catching up with our neighbor friends again.
Unit 53 ROMEO Lunch
The ROMEO diners again kept it local in April as they chose Westwind Tavern for their monthly men’s luncheon. It is easy to participate in this first Friday activity and get acquainted with your neighbors if you are male, like to eat, and live in Unit 53. Just call Ron Guerin at 913-638-4514.
Unit 54 Men’s Lunch

Unit 57 had our annual spring training adventure at the Goodyear Ballpark. Our posse was limited due to the extreme heat, but those of us who braved it enjoyed the camaraderie, food, drinks, running into other Creekers, and I think a baseball game was played while we were there!

The men of PebbleCreek Unit 58’s breakfast group continue to return, even grow, in number over time. This March 26 was typical, as a dozen of us assembled at Eagle’s Nest, to enjoy the good food and smiling service that the wait staff always provides. They are pretty good photographers as well. After all, they can make a group like ours seem to be a handsome bunch of dudes.
Unit 61 Evening at the Theatre
Lynn Grice
On March 31, Unit 61 attended a vibrant performance of Pretty Woman at the Arizona Broadway Theatre. The group consisted of 27 unit members and two guests, and gathered for an unforgettable evening. Before the show, everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner, drinks, and dessert, setting the stage for a fantastic night. Thanks to Kristine Gillum for organizing this event.
Unit 61 March Men’s Breakfast
Laurie Miller
On March 24, 17 men from Unit 61 gathered at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant for their monthly men’s breakfast, enjoying a morning of camaraderie and conversation. Neighbors caught up on life, shared stories, and discussed everything from golf and pickleball to upcoming unit activities and world events. Plenty of laughter and lively discussion made it another enjoyable and engaging get-together for all who attended.
Unit 61 St. Patrick’s Day Happy Hour
Laurie Miller
On March 17, 48 residents from Unit 61 gathered at the Oasis Pool for a festive St. Patrick’s Day Happy Hour filled with delicious appetizers, lively conversation, and plenty of green. The highlight of the evening was a series of rousing games of Irish bingo, which kept everyone engaged as friendly competition filled the air. Great company and cheerful holiday spirit made the event a wonderful way for neighbors to come together and celebrate.

Unit 62A Takes a Tour of the Biltmore
Toni Erickson
On March 14, Unit 62A enjoyed a history tour of the beautiful Arizona Biltmore. Our guide was exceptionally engaging, sharing not only fascinating historical insights but also personal stories from his many years working at the Biltmore, where he rose through the ranks before retiring. He later returned from retirement to lead these informative tours, adding a unique and meaningful perspective to the experience.
Following the tour, the group dined together at Season 52 at Biltmore Fashion Park. It was a delightful afternoon filled with great conversation, interesting history, and a delicious meal enjoyed by all. Seated around the table are Vic and Marilyn Coates, Bruce and Lynn Banks, Janet Henson, Julie Greenbank, Toni and Bob Erickson, Judy Meservey, and Lauri Wyman. Standing in the back are Cathe Pruyn, Janelle Watts, Brent and Kim Ebert, Patti and Mike Trapp.
Unit 62A Books and Booze
Toni Erickson
Every other month seems to arrive quickly for the Books and Booze group. As always, everyone brings along books they’ve recently read, as well as a few to pass on and share. Each selection is given a brief review, often accompanied by a recommendation—or, in some cases, a candid note that it may not be worth the read.
The group gathered on March 25 at the lovely home of Janelle Watts. With the warmer temperatures already upon us, the group enjoyed the afternoon comfortably indoors. Seated on the sofa from left to right are Bonnie Springer, Julie Greenbank, Cathe Pruyn, Jackie Bachmann, and Renee Fisher. Standing behind this group is Lynn Banks, Barb Downey, Janelle Watts, Joanne Wrout, and Toni Erickson.
March Happy Hour for Unit 62A
Toni Erickson
The March Happy Hour was graciously hosted by Renee Fisher on March 17 from 5 to 7 p.m., both inside her home and in her attractive backyard. Many guests embraced the festive spirit, dressing in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day—whether Irish by heritage or just for fun. Everyone contributed by bringing an appetizer to share and a beverage of their choice. It was a beautiful evening enjoyed by the neighbors of Unit 62A, filled with great company and energetic conversation. Renee Fisher (the hostess in white shorts) is standing with Barb Downey and Toni Erickson.
