Unit 43B Volunteer Spotlight

Sandy Horvath with “Baby G”

Ever since the PebbleCreek Villas Association (Villas 43B) transitioned to homeowner control in 2017, Sandy Horvath has served in a number of volunteer roles, helping develop the association and improve the community.

Sandy was a charter member of the Villas 43B Election Committee, the Communications Team, and has been a member of the Architecture and Landscape Committee (ALC) since 2019. He has also served as a board member since 2021 and is currently Villas 43B Vice President.

Sandy says his love for landscaping and the community is what drives his volunteer efforts. He is currently the Villas 43B ALC Landscaping Manager and has been instrumental in the community’s water conservation efforts. Working closely with Liberty Utilities and the Villas 43B landscaping team, Sandy helped coordinate the installation of weather-based irrigation controllers to help optimize the watering schedule. Sandy reports the conservation efforts are generating impressive results and Villas 43B is on target to cut water use by 18 to 20%—saving almost a million gallons of water this year alone.

As a member of the Communications Team, Sandy was involved with the creation of the first Villas 43B website and two subsequent transitions, including the current website hosted by Villas 43B community management team, Planned Development Services (PDS).

Prior to retirement, Sandy worked in sales and sales management in the electronics and telecommunications industries, then taught photography for 10 years both here in Goodyear and in Washington, his former home state. Sandy and his wife, Georgia, have been married for 56 years, have a daughter who still lives in Washington, two grandchildren, and a brand-new great-granddaughter, named after her great-grandmother, Georgia, and dubbed “Baby G.” Says Sandy, “Baby G is really something else.” Just like her great-grandfather!
