Lu Jean Anderson and Pat Atkinson, Current Leaders
Our GTG history continues from last month. After the PC Ladies Club ended, Shirley and Pat continued the “Crazy Hat Luncheon” that had been previously organized by that group. To make a bit of a difference Shirley contacted the Social Director of the Officer’s Club at Luke Air Force Base to ask if the GTG event could be at the Officer’s Club. Using flyers, posters and word of mouth, 90 tickets were sold for the first GTG Crazy Hat Luncheon. Each spring more gals came to this event. What fun it was to see the beautiful, silly or unique hats worn by our PC gals in the Crazy Hat Fashion Parade. In later years fashion show luncheons were held with clothes from different boutiques. Our special GTG were the models.
Our first Christmas/Holiday luncheons were held at the lovely Wigwam Resort for many years, later at the PC Ballrooms and now in the Tuscany Chianti Room. The room always has beautiful holiday decorations, door prizes and entertainment while gals enjoy a delicious lunch.
If you are a gal living in PebbleCreek you are automatically a member of the PC GoodTime Gals. Our purpose is meeting and making new friends. We hold activities year-round. We meet for Mexican Train/Game Day on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 12:20 p.m. in the E/N Palm Room. Progressive Hand & Foot is played every Friday at 12:20 p.m. in the E/N Palm Room. Dinner Bunch is the last Tuesday of each month at a different restaurant at 5:30 p.m. We still hold the Christmas Holiday Luncheon Party in early December.
We became an official PC Club soon after our founding. A huge thank you goes out to the following gals who have made it possible for the PebbleCreek GoodTime Gals to continue in 2018 as a part of our community.
2001-2006: Shirley Sughrue and Pat Kaye, Founders; 2007: Cheryl Davis and Judy Robinson; 2008: LuJean Anderson and Toni Beasley (Pat Atkinson, Publicity); 2009 to Present: LuJean Anderson and Pat Atkinson
LuJean Anderson and Pat Atkinson always appreciate the many gals that continue to volunteer their time in many different ways. The PC GTG is truly a group effort to insure on-going events happen. From 16 gals to our GTG email group that now has over 400 gals listed, we have grown.
It’s over 10 years since LuJean and Pat took on this very important task of being the leaders of the PC GoodTime Gals. They deserve a special thank you for all the years they have made our events run smoothly. How pleased after 17 years our community can still enjoy times together and meet new gals to make new friends. We hope this article encourages others to come and meet new and old friends at a GTG event. Questions? Email [email protected].
