On Jan. 6, Sue Sellnow made a hole-in-one on hole number 4 at Eagle’s Nest. She made it during a Saturday couples tourney where “4-person scramble” was the format. This was Sue’s first ever hole-in-one! The ace helped her team win low gross in their flight.
The 4h hole played 117 yards from the red tees to a back pin-placement. Sue was last to hit and none of her partners (husband Mark and Greg and Tricia Curtis) were on the green yet. So, she really concentrated on the shot, making sure to keep her head down. She hit her 7-iron solid but never saw the ball fly at all. But her playing partners told her the shot looked really good and should be in a great spot on the green. Arriving at the green, no one saw her ball as they looked everywhere. Everywhere except in the hole. Tricia checked the hole and happily said, “Sue, it’s in the hole!” Celebrating then commenced! Even the foursome waiting on the tee started to cheer!
Sue has been playing golf for about 18 years. She is a member of the Lady Niners.
She grew up in the Minneapolis suburbs and lived there most of her life. She spent her career in the information technology world mainly working for two firms, TCF Financial and Medtronic, Inc. Medtronic is the largest medical device company in the world and is famous for being the first company to manufacture the implantable pacemaker.
She and her husband, Mark, purchased a home in PebbleCreek in 2021.
Congrats to Sue on her awesome shot. One that she never saw. Maybe she will see her next one go in!
