Colorado: Rockin’ the Night Away
Marilu Trainor
A sold-out group of 250 registrants partied March 2 during another highly successful Colorado Party. This state party is one of the most popular events in PebbleCreek each season. This year’s theme was about all things musical and named “Colorado Rocks 2024.” The Tuscany Falls Ballroom was the site of the nonstop fun evening.
Reservations were sold out within the first 11 days they were available, and many guests planned their best ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s attire, which made it even more fun to see the creativity of the attendees who enjoyed each other’s costumes.
The evening began with guests arriving to see classic cars in front of the Tuscany Ballroom. They snapped selfies before entering the ballroom lobby where they were greeted by “Miles,” the Denver Broncos mascot. Attendees quickly grabbed the always popular “Rocky Mountain Squares” raffle entries where more than $2,500 was given away later that night. The prizes (each valued at least $100 per prize) were awarded during the Rhythm Edition band break. Lucky winners received airline tickets, cash prizes, gift cards and certificates, Arizona lottery tickets, and rounds of golf.
Guests were treated to a plentiful Italian buffet dinner. Table décor included pom poms, flashing lights, and guitars to continue the musical theme. The dance floor was always packed with the dancers enjoying everything from slow tunes to line dancing. Guests were seen doing the Twist and jitterbug.
Another very popular part of this annual party was the musical themed photo booth where couples and groups posed all night long. Props included replica bongos, horns, and guitars.
The 2024 committee was co-chaired by Michele Conroy and Cheryl Murphy. Committee members included Heather Adamscheck, Pam Anderson, Suki Fitzgerald, Cari Gallo, Kayce Healy, Beth Kelly, Tracey Littlefield, Mike Pippin, Mary Taylor, and Marilu Trainor.
Mark your calendar for Feb. 27, 2025, for the next Colorado state party. Details for the party will be announced in December, and registration will begin in early January 2025.
Wisconsin State Party Was a Dairy Good Time
Pat Jensen
The 2024 Wisconsin State Party was held on Feb. 25 in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. It was a great success with 189 people attending. Kevin Hillstrom, our emcee, did a great job of entertaining us all. The theme was Wisconsin Dairyland and he taught us way more about the field than any one of us knew existed. Did you know that cows have four stomachs? That and many other facts were learned in the cow trivia contest.
All 1,000 raffle tickets were sold, many 50-50 tickets, and five decks of cards also sold quickly. The card game continues to be a highlight of the event.
Next year’s event is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 so mark your calendars now.
