Our wonderful Progressive Dinner went off without a hitch on November 1. Hostesses galore, record attendance and delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts made this one of our most festive evenings ever. 90 members traveled throughout our community for appetizers, main courses and desserts. The appetizers were coordinated by the hosting homes; the main course, Paella, was the same at every location and featured a recipe taken directly from our Without Reservations Cookbook. Desserts were served at two central homes with scrumptious sweets filling all countertops; what a well-planned event! We have our Social Chair Joan Wendroff and her able-bodied co-chairs Martha Bergman, Bobbie Harris and Esther Schatz to salute for a job well done! Everyone is already asking about the next one!
Let’s have a party and all dance the Hora! The Shalom Club’s annual Chanukah celebration will be held on December 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. This holiday is always a great dinner and dance party. The menu will include: carving stations of beef and turkey; potato latkes (pancakes), salad, desserts and some surprises. We will have music throughout the evening for your listening and dancing pleasure. Please sign up on our website: www.pcshalomclub.org as soon as possible. The costs are $21 per person for members, $29 per person for guests and $15 per person for children 12 and under. Final due date for checks is December 15. They are to be given to Carl Schatz, our treasurer, and made payable to the PC Shalom Club. Do not miss this event. It’s well worth attending!
Mark your calendars! The Celebrate 20/Roaring 20s gala extravaganza will be held on February 6, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. in the Tuscany Ballroom. The twentieth anniversary of the Shalom Club is in 2015 and we want to celebrate it with gusto. A fun filled evening of dinner, dancing and entertainment is being arranged for our members. There is so much to do and so little time. This will be the biggest party of 20 years. Join us to commemorate this anniversary and toast the next 20 years. More information to follow as plans firm up!
Last, but not least, our January 18, 2015, monthly meeting will be held in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. It is a most important meeting with a slate of four new officers being presented. Please make it a point to attend. Your vote is very important.
