Future unit representatives… we need you!

Janet Miazga and Bob Young

What is a Unit Rep? In PebbleCreek our Unit Rep Committee is comprised of volunteers from each Unit. But unfortunately not every Unit is currently represented by a committee Rep. The Units which will not have a Rep as of the first of the new year are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 15, 22, 24, 25, 26, 38, 41, 42A and 58; that is almost one third of our Units. We need to find volunteers. Might you be the perfect fit? Please read on and see or, if your Unit already does have a Rep, keep reading to see what all they do for you.

Unit Reps want to make our community a great place to live. The purpose of the Unit Rep is to provide a cohesive union between the PebbleCreek HOA Board and homeowners by providing timely and accurate information regarding policies, procedures and social events within the community. We also welcome new homeowners and long-term renters through personal contact, emails and monthly meetings, making it easy for them to get acquainted with the PebbleCreek lifestyle. We encourage residents to register on the HOA website, www.pebblecreekhoa.org, to stay informed. Our Unit Reps value the community and do so by promoting social gatherings and activities.

Our committee meetings are interesting and informative. Here are a few of the speakers/subjects we hosted during 2014: Director of Facilities Ken Sergio; Gary Sorrels, Villa Townhomes; PebbleNews and HOA Website team; Resident & Guest Services; Goodyear Development Services Director; Director of Community Services Jim Brown; Goodyear Police Department; Goodyear Fire Department; Life Long Learning; PC General Manager Bill Barnard and PC Food and Beverage Melissa Gonzales. We also conducted and reviewed results from a Unit Rep Questionnaire, discussed “where we were, where we are and where we are going,” and held round tables regarding procuring and maintaining a Unit directory, technology tools and planning Unit social events and fundraisers.

We provide training for new Reps and help them with suggestions on how to get their Unit directories set up and their residents all acquainted. Further information regarding the committee, along with names and photos of current Reps per Unit can be found on our HOA website. Log in, go to the governance tab, then committees, then Unit Reps. We meet on the second Monday of the month (except summer) from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Chianti Room at the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse and encourage all residents to attend.

A Unit without a Rep may miss out on community information of importance to our residents as well as the opportunity to grow closer as a neighborhood, so we are encouraging homeowners to volunteer for this role in the open Units. If you are interested in becoming a Unit Rep or have questions, please contact Janet Miazga at [email protected] or Bob Young at [email protected]. Many thanks to all of our current, past and future committee volunteers!
