Rovin’ Pebbles RV Club held their annual Holiday Party on December 2 in the Tuscany Falls Chianti Room. Of the 55 members attending, 15 of our newest members for 2015 were recognized.
Following hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, a plated dinner was served. Then we began our program with awarding our wagon masters with their name tag swingers. They took us to Catalina State Park in Tucson, San Antonio, the Good Sam Rally, Quartzite, all five National Parks in Utah plus the north rim of the Grand Canyon and most recently the Los Angeles area where some of us took in The Price is Right. On hand to receive their awards were Glen and Linda Bolon, Gerald and Sharon Findley, Terry Thornton, Stan and Judy Ashby, Ted and Sharon Oehlerking, Jim and Betty East, DK and Pam Loo and Barb Wood. Also wagon mastering but not able to make the evening festivities were Fairrel and Phyllis Tackett, Juli Thornton, Kathryn Sarter, Ole and Edie Lodberg and Bill and Barb Van Trump.
We also do local activities in the winter. We enjoyed a herding dog demonstration up in New River then headed over to Turf Paradise for the horse races. Barb Wood received a tour master name tag swinger for arranging that.
The 2016 board was introduced with Jim East as our incoming president. Stan Ashby was elected vice president and Pam Loo continues in the secretary/treasurer position. Terry Thornton and DK Loo will be our directors with Mike Zeman as past president/director.
Debbie Blaine, Judy Ashby and Deanna Slack sold tickets to the membership for both our fundraiser raffle and a 50/50 raffle.
Ted Blaine presented DK Loo with this year’s Scorpion Award for best of the worst moments in RVing. Along with the award was a $50 gift certificate.
The evening highlight is always the slide show of caravans throughout the year. Ted Blaine put together a 30 minute review so we could relive the memories.
For the 2016 winter schedule we will do local attractions but are heading to the Cottonwood/Camp Verde area in March/April. Then we’re off to Napa Valley and San Francisco in May for our going away trip. Following that caravan members either continue on with their summer plans or head back to PebbleCreek. Our coming back trip will find us in September in Yucaipa, California for what some call “New England of the West” in Oak Glen for the apples and farm stands. We will check out numerous interesting places in this area known as the Inland Empire.
The RV Club meets the first Wednesday of the month in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 3:00 p.m. October to May. The exception is December which is when we have our holiday party. For more information about our club, check the bulletins in the front desk racks of both clubhouses or stop in for one of our meetings.
