The Rovin’ Pebbles RV Club left March 15 for a week in the Verde Valley and Sedona area of Arizona. There were 16 rigs and 31 folks. We caravanned to Distant Drums RV Resort, which is just one exit north of Camp Verde off Highway 17. That evening we all met in the community room provided by the resort for happy hour and a fantastic potluck dinner. Friday morning, folks dropped by the community room for Starbucks fresh ground coffee made by Charles and Diana Cox. Thank you, Charles and Diana. Barry and Dotty, Jeff and Judy (Wagon Masters) served warm fresh baked biscuits every morning. Butter, jam and honey were provided. YUM! Our group then caravanned to Montezuma’s Castle and Montezuma’s Well. Friday evening, we met in the community room for appetizers and happy hour. Saturday morning, we again served fresh ground coffee and hot biscuits. The group then departed for the Wine and Pecan festival at Camp Verde. We all met for a fantastic lunch served by Moscato Italian Restaurant on their patio. Sunday a sumptuous breakfast was served by the wagon masters. Breakfast included orange juice, fresh biscuits with sausage gravy and scrambled eggs and sausage patties. Sunday was a free day for exploring the area. Sunday night we were off to Blazing M Ranch for a cowboy dinner and a melodrama about women in the West. Featured were monologs of Annie Oakley and Calamity Jane. On Monday morning, after coffee and biscuits, we all mounted up and drove to Tlaquepaque. Tlaquepaque is a perfect setting to witness gifted Sedona artisans absorbed in their work. Later we all met at Los Rosales for a fabulous Mexican Buffet. Monday night, after happy hour, we met for games. Chip Haynes provided a history of the banjo and played for our entertainment. Wow! Chip is a master at his craft. Thank you, Chip! Tuesday we were off to Tuzigoot National Monument and the Asylum restaurant at the Grand Hotel in Jerome for lunch. After lunch we were on our own to experience Jerome. Our final night, after happy hour, Chip connected with a gentleman on the RV Resort patio who played the mandolin. What a great ending to our trip listening to them both play.
