Rotary Equals Service

Linda Babcock

Rotary is all about service. Service above Self. We have Avenues of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, Youth Service. If you have been a part of Rotary International in the past, perhaps you would like to be a part of this great organization again. It is heartfelt and rewarding. To give back to your community in a variety of ways is very fulfilling. Research has proven when you help others, your life is not only fulfilled but your longevity is extended. We extend the welcoming hand of Rotary to anyone interested in making our community a better community. As Rotarians, we live by the four way test: 1. Is it the Truth? 2. Is it Fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships? 4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned? And the Goodyear PebbleCreek Rotary club adds a fifth, Make it Fun. There are a variety of reasons for joining Rotary, such as Friendships and Fun. We do several service projects each year. There are networking opportunities and there are weekly meeting experiences. Our Goodyear PebbleCreek Rotary Club meets at 7 a.m. each Wednesday in the PebbleCreek Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse in Goodyear. Our focus is on making a difference. Literacy is a high priority. Youth services wherein we have a Senior to Senior program mentoring high school seniors, RYLA, Interact and student of the month programs. We are involved in Sleep in Heavenly Peace, building beds for those in need; food drives; holiday food boxes; as well as international projects: Watts of Love and Polio Plus.

Our weekly programs are inspirational and informative. On Nov. 5 our guest speaker is Kristyn Meulenberg addressing the need for a will or a trust. On Nov. 19 our speaker will be Anne Schoolcraft, addressing behavioral health. On Dec. 3 our speaker is Dr. Paul Sowa from Ortho Arizona and on Dec. 17, Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo will be updating us on the City of Goodyear. Our door is open. Former Rotarians, we would love to have you visit. Community members who wish to join us in making our community a better place, we invite you to visit.

Again, your Goodyear PebbleCreek Rotary Club meets on Wednesday mornings at 7 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse. Give us the opportunity to welcome you back or to meet new friends.
