The PebbleCreek Republican Club welcomed members and guests to the gala Thursday, December 1 meeting in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Social Time began at 6:30 p.m.; goodies were available for snacking and the meeting followed at 7:00 p.m.
Barbara and Larry Magnuson were introduced and thanked for their great efforts for Luke Air Force Base through the ongoing Thunderbox Operation which packs items for those serving overseas and Adopt A Family which donates gifts to needy children at the Base at Christmas.
Following the meeting, there was a particularly timely program – MAGA: Inside Trump’s Victory. The presentation was made by Arizona State professor Nicholas Damask, PhD, who teaches political science at both Arizona State and Scottsdale Community College.
Dr. Damask received his MA in International Relations from the American University in Washington DC and his BA and PhD in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Damask’s doctoral dissertation was on contemporary terrorism and drug trafficking. He has taught Political Science for 21 years.
The breakdown of the election results by areas throughout the country, media election coverage, student reactions and much more were covered in the presentation and this was followed by a long and lively Q & A session.
Everyone was requested to take an ornament tag or two with gift requests from the annual Christmas tree or donate for Santa’s Helpers to make the purchases. The tree and gift requests were displayed to benefit children at Luke Air Force base who qualify for assistance through Adopt A Family.
