Republican Club Hosts “Meet & Greet the Candidates”

Jenna Ridgeway

On May 18, all Republican and non-partisan candidates who will appear on the July 30 Arizona Republican primary ballot were invited to attend a Meet & Greet session at the Eagles Nest Ballroom. This was a great chance for everyone to speak with the candidates one-on-one and find out their opinions and stances. All candidates introduced themselves on stage and stated the office for which they were running. A large contingency of Creekers attended and queried candidates at their assigned tables. The consensus was that this kind of format allowed the citizens to voice their concerns and see how the candidates reacted. Each candidate has a platform. This gathering allowed constituents to see how the candidates would potentially implement it.

Political attendees included:

U.S. House of Representative (CD-9): Paul Gosar

State House of Representatives (LD-29): Steve Montenegro, James Taylor

State Senate (LD-29): Janae Shamp

Goodyear City Council: Laura Kaino, Trey Terry, Teri Roberts, Benita Beckles
