More and more people are hearing about what a ball it is to play Bocce in PebbleCreek! That is why the volunteers who organize this popular activity are encouraging everyone who wants to participate in the Winter 2018 Season to get in their registration forms as soon as possible and to pay very close attention to the registration deadlines set for later this month.
The Winter Season begins Tuesday, January 9 and ends Friday, March 16, 2018.
Forms must be turned in for all teams or individuals wishing to participate in the Winter League at the Eagle’s Nest ticket kiosk on November 27 and 28, 10:00 a.m. to noon. No phone or email registrations will be accepted. Exception: Mail-in or drop-off registration with all registration fees paid will be accepted by the Treasurer if received on or before November 25. Mail-in registrations are to be mailed to Mollie McErlean at 16114 West Fairmount Avenue, Goodyear, Arizona 85395-8045. Team registration is officially closed on November 28 and individual registration on December 1.
Registration fee is $20 per league per year. The $20 covers the winter and spring seasons.

The PebbleCreek Bocce Association opened its fall 2017 Season on Tuesday, September 26 with a total of 58 teams signed up to compete in the Tuesday and Thursday Night Leagues and the Wednesday and Friday Day Leagues. Since the opening of the new eight-court Bocce Complex in 2014 the popularity of the sport has grown significantly. There are 67 newcomers participating in the fall season.
“We are very excited to be starting another year of Bocce at our beautiful, state of the art complex at Eagle’s Nest,” Association President Cheryl Kasselmann told the group of team captains and co-captains who were gathered for a pre-season organization meeting on Friday, September 22.
Wishing all the teams a successful season of competition, President Kasselmann explained that Bocce was organized primarily as a social club.
“Our mission is to provide an atmosphere where veteran players and newcomers alike can relax, make new friends and have fun,” she said.
An all-volunteer Board of Directors oversees the three seasons of Bocce competition that take place in the fall, winter and spring of each year. In addition to Ms. Kasselmann, the Board consists of Vice President Bob Labenz, Treasurer and Team Registrar Mollie McErlean, Secretary Gail Davidson, Statistician Carol Gwilt and Publicity Director Pat Milich.
