The 8th annual PebbleCreek Pickleball Tournament was held Feb. 7, 8, and 9. Despite the weather, the tournament was a raging success. I say raging because the wind and rain caused some delays. Unfortunately, on the second day, play was suspended around 11 a.m. then officially canceled because of the rain. There was no extra rest for the tournament committees, however; they were out cleaning and drying off courts before the sun came up every day! On Friday, the show did go on for the entire time. There were no delays, but there were plenty of spectators donning blankets and warm winter coats.
The organization was amazing! We live in a great community where more than 300 people came together to fill all the shifts for first aid, sponsorships, food, vendors, hospitality, luncheon, publicity, silent auction items, parking, technology, announcing, brackets, and oh did I say we are all retired? This is an active community!
Our Title sponsor, Sunder Energy, sponsored the medals. The gold medals are made of 24 carat gold. They are all beautiful!

Another Team Challenge event is set for Feb. 24 and 25. The first team challenge was a popular event, and the second team challenge is almost full except at the 4.5 level. If you can’t participate, feel free to come cheer them on!
The PebbleCreek Pickleball Club Championship Tournament is set for March 21, 22, and 24. To register, you will go to Pickleballbrackets.com instead of registering on Court Reserve. Women’s doubles are March 21, Men’s doubles are March 22, and Mixed will be March 24.
