On February 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. the Goodyear Branch Library will host jazz duo, Primal Mates, for their Poetry in Music, Music in Poetry series. Over the years, as part of their regular concert programs, the chamber jazz duo of Chris Lee and Colleen O’Brien have included poems that have been set to music, music that has been set to poems and music by some well known writers who were also accomplished composers. This concert will be devoted entirely to this genre.
They also have the capability of having an accompanying slide presentation that follows the program with each poem projected on the screen so the audience can follow the written word with the poem being sung. Following the program, they usually open up the floor to questions and a discussion of the process involved.
